The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is pleased to announce that we have signed a $32.4 million, five-year sole source contract with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to license English and Spanish language editions of SNOMED Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT).Starting in January 2004, free-of-charge access to SNOMED CT core content and all version updates will be available through the NLM?s Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) Metathesaurus, a knowledge source containing biomedical concepts and terms from many controlled vocabularies and classifications.
